The Trick Section
Scope
The Nordic Kite Challenge competition format is aimed for the kite fliers with an intermediate + skill level, combining precision-, freestyle- and trick elements.
By combining these elements, this format enables the pilots to develop a broad range of (basic) flying skills.
The Trick Section
The TrickSection consists of flying four different tricks selected from the tricks pool. Three of the tricks are selected by the pilot him-/herself and the fourth will be selected by the organizing committee for each competition.
At the briefing the organizing committee announces the mandatory trick to the Competitios. Likeways the competitiors inform the organizing committee their selection of tricks.
Each trick can be performed three times anywhere in the wind window and whithin the time limit of 4 minutes.
Judges are to score each trick performance using the following score range:
0 - Skipped trick/unrecognizable
1 – Poor performance
2 - Fair performance
3 - Average performance
4 - Good performance
5 - Excellent performance
Score Calculation
After the judges have set their scores, the scores are due for the 'score calculation'; calculate the final score. (The Score Calculation is taken care of by the computer.)
There are two factors will imply on the final score:
1) Level of difficulty
2) Number of attempts
Level of difficulty
There are five groups of tricks with increasing difficulty, thus a difficult trick will have a higher max score than an easy one. The score is multiplied with it's according factor of difficulty.
Group 1 – Factor: 1,0
Group 2 – Factor: 1,5
Group 3 – Factor: 2,0
Group 4 – Factor: 2,5
Group 5 – Factor: 3,0
Number of attempts
The competitor can do the same trick three times. For the first attempt the score is multiplied with a factor of 1,0, the second attempt the score is multiplied with a factor of 0,8. For the third attempt, the factor is 0,6. (100%, 80% and 60%)
